Bihar on the Move

Aug 21 2010 1:00 pm
Asia/Calcutta

Governance Now is organising a day-long seminar on Bihar as a precursor to the elections there. The overall theme of the event is BIHAR ON THE MOVE. The event is on Saturday, August 21 at the India Islamic Centre, at Lodi Road, New Delhi.

The event begins at 10.30 with an inaugural address by M J Akbar. It will be followed by three panel discussions:  BRANDED BIHAR TO BRAND BIHAR, WHAT BIHAR NEEDS NEXT (more development, more jobs, private investment and industry) and WHAT BIHAR NEEDS MOST (political consensus and getting over the deep divisions of caste).

The panel discussions will be followed at 3 pm by a special address by Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on the topic THE BIHAR OF MY DREAMS. Uday Shankar, Star India CEO and former Editor of Star News, will then engage Nitish in a brief interaction on Bihar followed by a question answer session with the audience.
