Technology comes in way of complaining on CVC website

The design of website prohibits a user to submit online complaints

GN Bureau | February 17, 2012

Technology has come in way of lodging online complaints on CVC portal due to a faulty design. The scroll bar on the complaint filing page on the portal (https://portal.cvc.gov.in/portal/index.jsp)  is non functional and hence an individual is unable to file an online complaint.

The design is faulty to the extent that an individual can neither scroll down on the complaint submission page nor can press the submit button.

Many users have highlighted their grievance in the discussion forum on the CVC portal to no avail. One such complainant says that, “Since last 15 days I am trying to lodge a complaint but portal says try after some time. “

Even on the discussion forum an individual is unable to check the details of the user posts as a click on any one of the posts takes you to page which reads “No comments posted yet”.

A click on “citizen corner” and “profile management” tabs throws up a lot of garbage on the page and highlights gaps in the design process.

The tab, “All lodged complaints” hence appropriately throws, “No records found” as a user is unable to lodge a complaint in first place.

CVC has multiple times advised various government agencies to adopt IT and e-governance. However their own complaint management system does not set a good benchmark for other departments to follow.
