HP offers land for TERI centre
Himachal Pradesh government has offered land and all other assistance for setting up the regional centre of The Energy and Resources Institute (TERI) in the state to help provide technical guidance in climate change and environment protection, Chief minister P.K.Dhumal on Friday said.
Laying the foundation stone of State Centre of Climate Change here, he said the state Centre on Climate Change and Department of Environment would enter into technical Memorandum of Understanding for areas of cooperation in areas like climate change, energy efficiency, agriculture/horticulture, biotechnology and modelling sustainable development.
He said government was working closely with local communities to assess the carbon footprint at panchayat level and was developing its hydro power resource which will reduce
