Khullar is popular at TRAI

He has eased office restrictions: 180-strong staff is happy
GN Bureau | May 30 2012

Rahul Khullar, the new chiarman of the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI), has won the hearts of his 180 staff members. Reason: he has relaxed the strict discipline code. His predeccessor JS Sarma was considered a strict boss: he would not allow anybody to take leave or go early and a punching machine was installed at the entry to keep a watch on timings. Now, strict discipline is still maintained but with ease, without restrictions.

When Khullar, former commerce secretary, appeared before the joint parliamentary committee (JPC) probing the 2G scam on Tuesday for the first time, none of the TRAI officials including junior assistants did not even look at Sarma who was also present.
