Free legal aid clubs to come up in educational institutions

Sivaganga: Free legal aid clubs would be set up in educational institutions, including schools, according to a top official of the legal services board.
The clubs would be set up in all High schools, higher secondary schools and other educational institutions, to create awareness among them on various laws and acts. Each club would have 25 students, including boys and girls, according to S Guruviah, secretary of the legal services board here.
The students could also bring to the notice of the cell, any problems in the area they reside in like civil matters, sexual abuse or torture and ill-treatment of children, he said.
Ten best legal aid clubs would be chosen every year and each given Rs 2000 cash and certificates, he said.
