PTI | July 14 2010

Congress MLA from Kadapa district B Kamalamma met Member of Parliament Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy during his controversial consolation yatra in East Godavari district of Andhra Pradesh on Wednesday.

"Jagan is a young MP and Congress party would be strengthened by him. It would help realise late YSR's dream of making Rahul Gandhi Prime Minister after 2014 elections. The leadership of Jagan and Rahul Gandhi would benefit the State and country respectively," she told reporters after the meet.

She also reportedly invited the Kadapa Lok Sabha MP to a marriage in her family.

Congress MLAs like D Chandrasekhar Reddy, R Varaprasad and Raja Ashok Babu accompanied Jagan in East Godavari.

Congress MP from Rajahmundry V Arun Kumar met Jagan two days ago. He said his meeting with Jagan was a courtesy call.

Kumar said more MLAs are likely to meet Jagan after the ongoing Assembly session concluded on July 15.

Jagan resumed his yatra on July 8 to console the families of those who died of shock or allegedly committed suicide after Y S R Reddy's tragic death in a helicopter crash in September last year.
