LJP not to snap ties with Lalu: Ramvilas

RJD-LJP alliance was so strong that it would pave the way for ouster of the NDA government led by Nitish Kumar in Bihar, says Paswan

LJP will not snap its ties with RJD for the sake of electoral alliance with Congress, party president Ramvilas Paswan, elected to the Rajya Sabha on Thursday, said today.

'We know that Congress is averse to an alliance with RJD ... But we have made it clear that our alliance with RJD will remain intact,' he told newsmen.

The RJD-LJP alliance was so strong that it would pave the way for ouster of the NDA government led by Nitish Kumar in Bihar, he claimed.

Referring to his win in the Rajya Sabha polls yesterday, Paswan said it was a victory for both RJD and LJP.

'People wanted to defame Bihar by way of horsetrading of MLAs in favour of a businessman B G Uday, who played the villain ... But fortunately their gameplan failed,' he said.

Paswan said he along with Lalu Prasad would launch the joint campaign for Bihar assembly elections, scheduled for later this year, 'very soon'.

He urged CPI for firming up an alliance with RJD-LJP for the assembly polls.
