NRHM scam: CBI may arrest Pradeep Shukla for non-cooperation
Senior bureaucrat Pradeep Shukla, one of the prime accused in the national rural health scam, may soon be arrested by the central bureau of investigation for non-cooperation, sources said on Thursday.
According to sources, despite repeated reminders by the probe agency, former family welfare principal secretary Shukla has neither appeared in person before the agency nor has replied to several questions asked by the agency.
On January 19, the CBI had raided the premises of Shukla, currently a member of the UP revenue board, and five other former and present government officials in Delhi and Uttar Pradesh.
According to agency sources, the CBI will soon summon the accused officer again, following which he will have to respond. In case of a failure this time, the agency is likely to arrest him for non-cooperation.
