Smart card: Demand is rising

For the last three-four years, the demand for smart cards is rising across government departments. I suggest that there has to be a bigger department, which takes the responsibility of multiple concepts/technologies coming across in the area of smart cards. There has to be an authority which looks into standards and interoperability of various kinds of smart cards.

Also, we have to propagate the idea of government agencies to adopt smart cards based on SCOSTA. Being a system integrator we would not say no to any requirement. But since all smart cards have to ultimately come on SCOSTA, a kind of a mandate/direction from the government will help, and SCOSTA is going to be the future.
