Dr Asokan is a member of the Strategic and Technical Advisory Group of the World Health Organisation. He was earlier Indian Medical Association's national coordinator for tuberculosis programme. Dr Asokan runs the Deen Hospital in Kerala along with wife, Dr T Lalitha Asokan, a gynecologist.
