Joint secretary at the ministry of steel G Elias said that the future of the steel sector is largely dependent on how the land acquistion policy shapes up. Underscoring the flaws of the present Land Acquisition Act, Elias said that it has largely become a tool to promote private sector interests at the cost of public sector industrial growth. He was speaking at the Governance Now Forum - Steel and Sustainanble Development organised by Governance Now on October 29 in New Delhi.
