Cyberoam eyes 25% market share, to invest USD 26mn by 2012

Announces NetGenie routers for home and small office segment

Ahmedabad-based IT firm Cyberoam today said it expects to achieve 25 per cent market share in India routers business for home and small office segment and plans to invest about Rs 122 crore (USD 26 million) by 2012 to build up capacity and marketing initiatives.

"Globally we expect USD 200 million revenue from NetGenie product line by 2013. In India, we expect to sell our products to approximately 2.5 million by 2013, which would be approximately 25 per cent of potential market in India," Hemal Patel, CEO, Elitecore technologies- parent company of Cyberoam told reportes here.

Cyberoam today announced launch of NetGenie routers for home and small office segment. Patel said that this series of routers are the first of their kind to have web portal based support.

"The work that the technician does to solve problem in routers can be now done by the users themselves. We have simplified the process of solving errors doing away with need of calling a technician to solve small problems," Patel said.

The company launched two wi-fi routers with integrated features of anti-virus in the network, firewall and 3G support for Rs 7,999 and Rs 10,999.

"These routers will cover area up to 300 metres. Routers for home will support up to 8 users when all the features are activated. As a simple routers, it can support up to 30 users," Patel said.

He elaborated that investment of USD 26 million will be done to enhance company's business globally and approximately 20 per cent of it would be done in India.

"We will invest USD 20 million for marketing and building support team for NetGenie business.Another USD 6 million would be spentin setting up of offices," Patel said.

He added that the company is ready to invest USD 40 million in India for setting up manufacturing plant but the decision will depend on the weightage given to local manufacturers in National Telecom Policy, 2011.

"If the government gives weightage to local manufacturing then we will speed up our manufacturing plan in India. We will acquire a company in Taiwan and start the production. At present, we have outrsourced production in Taiwan," Patel said.

Cyberoam is also doubling its channel partner base across the gloabe, including India.

"Cyberoam has 5000 resellers globally and 481 in India.

We are looking to double this in 2 years time," Patel said.
