Last date for expression of interest for FAB extended

DeitY has extended the deadline to submit the expression of interest for setting up FAB manufacturing units in India till November 25th

Now semiconductor wafer fabrication companies (FAB) can submit their expression of interest for setting up FAB manufacturing units in India till November 25th. The Department of Electronics and Information Technology (DeiTY) has extended the deadline from an earlier one of November 6th.

According to a press release issued by the ministry, the government has recently decided to apprise probable bidders about the quantum of subsidies and other benefits that will be provided by the government for setting up such units.

According to the release, last month, it had accorded ‘in principle’ approval for establishing two FAB manufacturing facilities in the country and issued letters of ‘in principle’ approval to the 2 bidders.

The technical requirements, the structure of incentives, the requirement of equity structure and other terms are indicated in the format for Expression of Interest (EoI) present on the website of DeiTY (www.deity.gov.in).
