Online filing of taxes full of problems in TN

People face problems such as downloading the form and wrong information

GN Bureau | April 24, 2013

Although the online filing of tax returns has been introduced, it has received a lukewarm response from people in Tamil Nadu.

According to a Deccan Chronicle report, the online system of filing taxes has its own set of problems. The problems begin right at the start, with the downloading of the form. Quoted in the report, P Venugopal, an advocate, says, “We have had problems right from downloading of the form to filing the returns online. And as the software is not accessible to the public in general, we are forced to go to tax return preparers (TRPs) or chartered accountants even to file the returns online.”

Other complaints include a mismatch in the taxes paid in advance following the downloading of the form.
