Process of allotting AADHAR cards in MP to start today

To be implemented in 478 post offices of Madhya Pradesh to cover the entire population of the state

The process of allotting Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) 12-digit AADHAR number to the people in Madhya Pradesh will commence on Wednesday with the allotment of enrolment forms for the purpose.

"The process of allotment of enrolment forms for allotting UIDAI number to the citizens of Madhya Pradesh will commence tomorrow at two places in the state capital Bhopal," Chief Post Master General (CPMG) MP circle, S Gouriyar told reporters in Bhopal on Tuesday.

The forms will be available at GPO Bhopal and City Post Office, TT Nagar from tomorrow for allotment of UIDAI number, he said.

Later, the scheme will be implemented in 478 post offices of Madhya Pradesh to cover the entire population of the state.

The card will also carry the biometric details of the citizen like his/her photograph, image of the eyes and finger prints of all the 10 fingers.

For getting AADHAR card, one would need to carry his photo-identity card and proof of residence and in case anyone does not have it need to contact AADHAR official for assistance, he added.
