Toll-free number to be operational from Jan 13

The Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) will soon start a toll- free helpline to address queries on the Aadhaar scheme.
According to a report published in Hindustan Times, the toll-free helpline will be operation from January 13. The call centre will be linked to the UIDAI’s data centres at Greater Noida and Bangalore to provide quick responses.
At present, there is no direct redressal mechanism for the Aadhaar applicants. They can only lodge complaints on the UIDAI website which has its limitations.
