Anxious moments for blueline operators

A delegation expected to meet Delhi CM Sheila Dikshit on Wednesday

GN Bureau | August 17, 2010

A group of members from the Blueline Bus Association is expected to meet Delhi chief minister Sheila Dikshit on Wednesday regarding the government’s decision for phasing out about 1300 blueline buses off the roads during the Commonwealth Games.

As per the decision taken by the Delhi government in the first week of August, the Blueline operators will be required not to ply buses on NDMC (New Delhi Municipal Council) routes for 45 days starting from September 15.

The transport sources say the decision is not yet on papers.  Though the bus operators have agreed to the decision, they want themselves to be actively involved in the matter before the things get on papers.

More than a week ago dozens of people associated with blueline showed their agitation in this regard at the transport authority situated at Underhill Road in Civil Lines.
