Oppn bandh on medical college issue

Alleges delay in getting approval for the first state medical college in Puducherry

Opposition AIADMK, Left parties, MDMK have called for a bandh here tomorrow in protest against the 'delay' of the Congress government here in getting Medical Council of India approval for the first State medical college.

A Anbalagan, AIADMK local unit secretary led a team of functionaries and workers of other parties told meetings that the government was adopting 'injurious policies' like regional reservation policy affecting students here. this was 'unconstitutional' and causes a wedge among students of different regions of Puducherry' he said.

The bandh is aimed at urging the government to give up the regional reservation in admission of students to professional courses, he added.
