Sri Lanka gets patrol vessel from GSL

The vessel was commissioned at Colombo

 SLNS Sayurala is the first Advanced Offshore Patrol Vessel (AOPV) designed and constructed by Goa Shipyard Ltd (GSL) for Sri Lanka Navy.

GSL delivered the vessel to Sri Lanka, 86 days ahead of contractual schedule.
 
The vessel was commissioned on August 2, 2017 at Colombo at the hands of Maithripala Sirisena, president of Sri Lanka, in the presence of defence minister Arun Jaitley.
 
Chief of staff of Sri Lanka Navy, Rear Admiral SS Ranasinghe lauded the excellent work undertaken in the shipyard and complemented GSL for its skills and proactive attitude, which is an example for others to emulate.
