Is Obama’s victory good for India?

GN Bureau | November 7, 2012

As Republican party nominee Mitt Romney has conceded his defeat and congratulated his rival democrat and president Barack Obama for his second term, Obama becomes the third consecutive president (officially yet to be announced) of the US to retain office after his predecessors George W. Bush and Bill Clinton.

Starting from Clinton’s second term, when he visited India both the countries have seen upward swing in the relations. Obama’s predecessor Bush enabled India to enter the world of civil nuclear commerce. That was the turning point, many analysts feel. It happened in the second term. Obama even visited India in November 2010.

However, the outsourcing was debated in this presidential election too. Indian IT industry is closely watching the elections. One question is on everybody’s mind. Will the elections rhetoric on outsourcing become policy in Obama’s second term?

In the background of outsourcing, do you think that Obama’s second term will be good for India?
