Is Shinde the right choice for home ministry?

GN Bureau | August 3, 2012

Union home minister Shushilkumar Shinde who insisted that he was “excellent” as power minister (in face of multiple grid failure which rocked the country on the day he left the power ministry) was greeted with serial blasts in Pune moments after taking over the charge of home affairs ministry on Wednesday. More embarrassment awaited him here. Minutes before the blasts, he listed in an interview his priorities as the home minister wherein he said that security of the nation was his top priority and he would do everything to ensure that terror attacks never took place. The home minister himself had a narrow escape since he was to attend a function in Pune on Wednesday, but his programme got cancelled as he took charge of the new ministry on the same morning.

Do you think he is the right man for the job?
