BJP MLA and former revenue minister of Madhya Pradesh, Kamal Patel who is in custody in connection with a murder case, has received another setback with the court rejecting his application for allowing him to attend his son's wedding.

The CBI special judge, Shubhra Singh while rejecting Patel's application yesterday said a bail application filed by him was under consideration in the Madhya Pradesh High Court and till it was disposed of, he cannot be granted bail.

She also said the marriage of Patel's son would not "stop" if he did not attend it.

Patel's counsel, Jai Singh had in an application filed before the CBI special court said the BJP leader should be given "relief" for three days to enable him to attend his son's wedding on June five.
