Andhra Pradesh Assembly Speaker N Manohar on Wednesday launched a website of the State legislature with a view to provide information about Government schemes and the House's proceedings in a transparent manner.

The website, www.aplegislature.org, would help the legislators get constituency-wise information, he said.

Manohar was addressing a group of legislators at a function after ending his three-day tour here.

He said information about the Government's flagship welfare schemes, self help groups and distribution of pensions, among others, have been uploaded on the website.

The main aim of the website was to provide paperless proceedings and create awareness among people about functions of the State legislature.

Andhra Pradesh Legislative Council Chairman K Chakrapani lauded the efforts of the Assembly Speaker in launching the website.
