Army officer arrested for indulging in child pornography

Arrest under section 67B of IT Act

An army officer has been arrested on charges of indulging in child pornography, police said today.

Lieutenant Colonel J B Singh, who was arrested yesterday following a complaint, was remanded in police custody till May 12 by a local court today.

Police sources said the officer had allegedly uploaded some objectionable pictures on the Internet.

Singh, who was working with the army's supply and transport wing in Kolaba, south Mumbai, has been charged with Section 67(B) (child pornography) of Information Technology Act.
