BMC planning to launch new online service centres

Project to provide a single window facility for services such as issuance of birth and death certificates, payment of bills and taxes

The Bhubaneswar municipal corporation is planning to form several Odisha Online Service Centres or OOSCs to provide public utility services for the people. There will be several phases to the project; first phase will see OOSCs come up at six locations namely, BMC office campus, Yatri Niwas (Cuttack Rad), Saheed Nagar Kalyan Mandap, Chandrasekharpur Kalyan Mandap, VSS Nagar Kalyan Mandap and community centre (BDA housing colony, Laxmisagar).
The OOSC project will provide convenient services to the people of Odisha and will provide a single window facility for services such as issuance of birth and death certificates, payment of bills and taxes etc. It will be implemented by a special purpose vehicle, Odisha e-Governance Service Limited (OeSL) which has been developed by Odisha Computer Application Centre (OCAC).
The municipalities of Bhubhaneswar, Cuttack and Berhampur have been chosen by OeSL on a pilot basis, according to a senior office at OESL, Shanti Swarup Mohanty. These services will be integrated with other municipalities in due course of time.
