The government has introduced e-procurement system in public sector units under the industries department from tomorrow to make available services and raw materials required by them, an official press release in Thiruvananthapuram said.

The system had been set up with the technical assistance of National Informatic Centre.

The arrangement was being made to make more transparent the transactions in PSUs and help officials to work freely without complaints, the release said.

The system could be used from anywhere in the country and ensured automation and accuracy of processing tenders of the works being carried out by the PSUs, it said.

The system was inaugurated by Industries Minister P K Kunhalikutty here on Wednesday.
