FBI raids homes in hacking probe: Report

Jordan's system identified as allegedly being used in a coordinated distributed denial of service attack against several companies

The FBI raided three homes in New York as part of a probe into the members of a hacking group called Anonymous, which has attacked websites and shut down servers.

FOX News reported that 10 FBI agents searched computers and computer-related accessories the home of Giordani Jordan in Baldwin, New York.

They reportedly removed at least one laptop from the premises. Agents also investigated homes in Long Island and Brooklyn. The people being investigated are from their late teens to early 20s.

A law enforcement official told FOX News that Jordan's system was identified as allegedly being used in a coordinated distributed denial of service attack against several companies.

The news outlet said that Anonymous is a loose collection of cyberspace activists who are inspired by WikilLeaks for fight for "internet freedom".

They have previously claimed responsibility for attacks against a variety of websites including Visa and Mastercard. Following the raid on Tuesday, the group tweeted, "It doesn't matter how many people the 'FBI' arrest.
