Jharkhand to have farmers data base online

After project completion, succession of mutations of the land will be hand over to the successors

The Jharkhand government will embark upon updating names of cultivators after the completion of the first agriculture census in the state since its creation 11 years ago. Agriculture census across the state is going on.

“After getting the complete data of cultivators, nature of land, fertilizers and other things, we will start handing over (succession of mutations of the land) to successors,” Land and Revenue Minister Mathura Mahato told reporters in the state capital.

Now the mutations are in the names of their ancestors, he said. The agriculture census, which began on December 15, is expected to be concluded on February 15 and tabulations may take a year’s time for completion. Once completed, the data would remain online, he said.
