In a bid to maintain complete transparency in the functioning of major departments, the Jammu and Kashmir government is contemplating on making e-tendering mandatory for key projects.

"E-tendering is extremely important for transparency, and in order to ensure smooth functioning of government departments we are mulling over making the process mandatory for all key projects," Chief Minister Omar Abdullah said today while launching e-tendering process in the housing and police departments and the Power Development Corporation.

During the function, the Chief Minister put several tenders of these three departments online. "In this high-tech era, people can easily keep themselves updated with the developments of the tender process with the help of internet," he added.
