Rs 1 lakh prize for the web manager of the winning site
GN Bureau | May 07 2010

Share

After a communication from Cabinet Secretary Chandrasekharan about the upkeep of department/ministry websites, now an incentive has been proposed. The best website will be selected and rewarded.

There are about 450 government of India websites maintained by the National Informatics Centre (NIC). It has introduced a new software, which provides quick translation of the content into 85 foreign languages.

By November 2010, a high-powered committee headed by the cabinet secretary will judge the best maintained government website. A prize of Rs 1 lakh is proposed as reward to the web manager of the winning site.
