State-run telecom operator MTNL, in partnership with IT firm Akmin Technologies, on past Thursday launched a new service, which will help its subscribers create customised website through a mobile device or a computer.

The service, 'mobile website builder' would be available to MTNL subscribers for Rs 75 per month, while the annual subscription will be available for Rs 750.

"In a digitally connected world, information is the power. With the launch of this service, we have enabled our customers in building a website in 10-15 minutes over mobile phones or a personal computer, without having any expertise in website building," MTNL Executive Director (Wireless Services) AK Bhargava told reporters in the Capital.

Mahanagar Telephone Nigam Limited (MTNL) had more than five million customers in New Delhi and Mumbai at the end of June 30, 2011 as per data available with telecom regulator Trai.

"An extensive suite of design templates, simple instruction prompts, no plug-ins and downloads, allow even novices to create a mobile and PC website," Akmin Technologies Managing Director Prashanth said.

Once published, users can quickly and easily add forms, upload videos, photos to update content to keep their sites current, he added.
