"At present, there is no mechanism in place for regular surveillance of internet websites," a written reply by the state home minister Ravi Naik reads.

The Home Minister was responding to a question by Congress' lone lady legislator Victoria Fernandes who had asked whether there is any mechanism for regular surveillance of internet websites advertising sex trades, drug parties, full moon parties, techno and Goa trance.

She had also asked whether there is any check on the websites advertising availability of drugs, female escort business, hackers targeting government websites and other activities of promoting communal disharmony instigating terrorist act in Goa.

Naik said that a proposal for creation of cyber cell as a component of Anti Terrorism Squad (ATS) is under examination of the government.

"Once cyber cell is created substantial progress in this regard is possible," he has added in the reply.
