Raja cancels Estonia trip after delay in PMO clearance

Minister was to study international best practices on e-governance

Telecom Minister A Raja, who was to lead a delegation to Estonia for an international conference, has called off his visit because of delay in clearance from the Prime Minister's Office (PMO).

The Minister along with four MPs and 15 officials from Department of Telecom and various state governments was to travel to Estonia from June 7-13 for a conference on e-governance, sources said.

The Minister's office had written to the External Affairs Ministry and the PMO for clearance for the visit, sources said.

While the MEA gave its clearance, the approval from PMO was delayed, prompting the Minister to call off the trip, they said.

The conference was about learning the best international practices on e-governance.
