Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Jayalalithaa on Friday reviewed the activities of two key departments -- Information Technology and Labour.

She reviewed the activities of the IT Department with its minister R B Udhayakumar and top officials, including IT Secretary Dr Santhosh Babu.

Tamil Nadu has attracted sizeable amount of investment in the IT sector and is considered one of the favourable destinations for this business. Most national and international IT companies have their footprint in the state.

Meanwhile, the Chief Minister also reviewed the Labour Department activities in a meeting with Labour Minister S T Chellapandian and senior Ministry officials.

A series of labour-related issues had come up in the state in the last few years even as it attracted huge foreign investment. Labour problems had cropped up in the factories of major investors such as Nokia, Hyundai and MRF recently.

Finance Minister O Panneerselvam and Chief Secretary Debendranath Sarangi were present for the review meetings.

The Chief Minister also also reviewed the activities of the tourism department.
