Internet firm Yahoo has joined hands with ABC News to launch a strategic online news alliance that will deliver content to their audiences.

With this agreement, ABC News content will be featured on Yahoo News, Yahoo said in a statement.

Under the agreement, ABC News becomes the premier news provider on Yahoo News, with editorial teams from both the companies collaborating on original coverage to appear on the Yahoo News and ABC News sites.

The partnership started with the debut of GoodMorningAmerica.com on Yahoo and three online video series with ABC News' correspondents and anchors.

The first of the new shows is "Newsmakers," an interview series, which begins with a live interview with President Barack Obama by " Good Morning America" anchor George Stephanopoulos.

"Yahoo is committed to building the richest set of premium and personalised content experiences for our users.

Our deep collaboration with ABC News further strengthens Yahoo as the No 1 online news source, greatly enhancing our already robust news content," Yahoo Executive Vice President (Americas) Ross Levinsohn said.

Yahoo News and ABC News reach a combined audience of more than 100 million people in the US each month on PCs, mobile devices and tablets.
