The budget session of Parliament will begin on March 12 and the union budget for 2012-13 will be presented on March 16.

The railway budget will be presented on March 14 while the economic survey will be tabled on March 15. The session will end on march 2012. Parliamentary affairs minister Pawan Kumar Bansal confirmed these dates on Tuesday.

The election commission of India’s code of conduct does not allow governments to make policy announcements during elections. Assembly elections are scheduled to start in three states soon. The entire exercise from voting to counting and announcement of results is expected to be completed by March 9.
