IPS officer finds favour with Jayalalithaa for RS ticket

Ajay Maken, Union Minister of Housing and Poverty alleviation has ordered a CBI probe into the allegation of poor quality dwelling units by Central Government Employees Welfare Housing Organisation (CGEWHO) in Chennai, Vishakhapatnam and four other places.
The allegations were made by central government employees who were allotted the flats. The employees also alleged misappropriation of funds, and inordinate delays in completing the projects.
By ordering the probe the, the central government hopes to win the confidence of a clutch of central government employees who are an important vote bank.

Jayalalithaa to give RS seat to an IPS officer

Tamil Nadu chief minister and AIADMK chief Jayalalithaa is likely to field IPS officer R Nataraj as a Rajya Sabha candidate in July. Nataraj who was police commissioner of Chennai had praised Jayalalitha as the strong, brave chief minister who took massive operation to wipe out LTTE. His paeans to the chief minister on the occasion of international women’s day on March 8 seems to have reaped the reward.
