The Haryana government has ordered all commercial establishments to get themselves registered by January 31 or pay a fine of Rs 1,000 to Rs 3,000.

The establishments can get themselves registered under Punjab Shops and Commercial Establishments (Haryana Amendment) Rules, 2011, online, a Labour Department spokesman said on Monday.

The commercial establishments include hotels, dhabas (roadside hotel), liquor shops, tea shops, vegetable shops, mobile shops, car mechanic and tyre puncture shops and STD booths in villages or cities.

A fine of Rs 1,000 to Rs 3,000 would be imposed on the commercial establishments which failed to get registration number by the stipulated date.

An establishment employing ten or more persons will have to pay a registration fee of Rs 5,000 for a period of three years, while Rs 1,000 would be charged as registration fee from nursing homes, privately managed educational institutions or universities and petrol pumps.
