Cong keen on riding 'Kolaveri' wave

Rahul Gandhi picked the song for the tune of party's campaign in poll-bound states

Congress will swing to the tune of 'Kolaveri Di' in the upcoming assembly elections in Uttar Pradesh, Punjab and Uttarakhand. Only, the lyrics will be 'Utho, jaago aur badlo'.

Party sources have said that the song was Rahul Gandhi's pick. Gandhi believes that the tune resonates with the youth and would help the Cpngress in the poll-bound state. Rights to the song have already been acquired, the sources said, while the possibility of getting 'Kolaveri Di' singer Dhanush to lend his voice to 'Utho, jaago aur badlo.'

Ironically, a rough translation of the Tamil phrase 'Kolaveri' is 'muderous rage'. The Congress-led government at the battled public ire for the better part of last year over corruption, policy paralysis and price rise.
