Making strong political comments after a long gap, Congress MP Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy today alleged that attempts were being made to marginalise him and his followers within the Congress party.

Addressing a public meeting here on the conclusion of his Odarpu yatra in Nellore district, he warned that there would be a "high tidal wave" if he ran out of patience.

"Conspiracies are ruling the roost within our own party. It may not look good if I say this. Attempts are being made, as per a scheme, to isolate me and to throw my loyalists and those who have lots of love for the late Y S Rajasekhara Reddy, out of the party," he said.

"Even if my loyalists remain in the party, they are being shown the hell. Is it fair? When I run out of patience, the hearts of all those people who love Rajasekhara Reddy would unite. When that happens, there will be a high tidal wave and these people will be washed away in that," he said.

Jagan's outburst came in the wake of the disciplinary action against a number of his supporters by the state Congress leadership for their critical remarks against the party leadership.

The party leadership in the state has suspended a few and issued show cause notices to several other supporters of the Kadapa MP for "acting against party interests". Among those at the receiving end were Ambati Rambabu, Gattu Ramachandra Rao, Y Gopal Reddy, Ch Bhaskar Reddy, K Sridhar Reddy among others.

However, this was not the first time that Jagan talked about "running out of patience". Earlier too, he indicated that he might run out of patience against the backdrop of his supporters facing action and had made critical comments against the chief minister K Rosaiah as well.

Defying the Congress high command's directives, Jagan went through his Odarpu yatra in Srikakulam, East Godavari, Prakasam and Nellore districts. The party leadership, however, has indicated that it may not take action against the young MP for now.

Jagan began the current spell of his yatra in Prakasam district on September 3, a day after the first death anniversary of his father and former chief minister Rajasekhara Reddy.

After Prakasam, he undertook his tour in neighbouring Nellore district.

As part of his yatra to console the families of those who died following the death of his father, Jagan has also covered West Godavari, Khammam and East Godavari districts.

He is likely to resume the next phase of his yatra in Visakhapatnam district sometime in January.
