Delhi monuments to bask in Games' reflected glory
Govt to light up 20 monuments in preparation for the Commonwealth Games

Showcasing history in new light, literally, is now high on the government agenda in preparation for the Commonwealth Games.
The ministry of culture with financial assistance from the ministry of tourism will lighting up 20 centrally-protected monuments in Delhi.
Here's a list of the 20 monuments which will be up for illumination by October 2010:
* Purana Qila Complex
* Khairul Manazil Mosque
* Sher Shah Gate
* Subz Burj
* Safdarjung Tomb
* Khan-i-Khana Tomb
* Bara Khamba (Hazrat Nizamuddin)
* Najaf Khan Tomb
* Kotla Feroz Shah
* Khooni Darwaza
* Biran Ka Gumbad, Green Park
* Dadi Poti, Hauz Khas
* Chhoti Gumti, Hauz Khas
* Humayun’s Tomb Complex
* Delhi Gate
* Jantar Mantar
* Red Fort Complex
* Ajmeri Gate
* Qila Rai Pithora (Conservation Centre)
* Qutb Minar Complex
The lighting project has beeen taken up by the Indian Tourism Development corporation (ITDC) under the tourism department while the Arcahelogical Society of India (ASI) of the culture ministry will be picking up the recussing electricity tab.
