AICC general secretary Digvijay Singh on Tuesday said the 'anti-Congress' campaign by social activist Anna Hazare would not affect the party's poll prospects in the coming assembly polls in five states, including Uttar Pradesh.

"I have been saying all along that Anna Hazare is not in favour of Jan Lok Pal bill or against corruption, but his movement is against Congress. It has been proven now," Digvijay, on a private visit in Mysore, told reporters after addressing Congress workers.

Singh said the people of Uttar Pradesh are looking to the Congress for an alternative to BSP and SP in Uttar Pradesh.

He declined to comment on the affairs of Congress in Karnataka, saying he was not in-charge of the state.

Congress opposition leader in Karnataka Siddaramaiah also echoed Singh's comments on the campaign and alleged that Hazare's campaign is backed by BJP and RSS.

He also denied reports of an exodus of Congress workers to union agriculture minister Sharad Pawar's NCP.
