President Pratibha Patil’s address to the joint session of parliament in Hindi has not gone down well with the DMK’s MPs.  They met the speaker and formally lodged a protest. They said the English translation of the speech was not available, and therefore it was difficult for them to understand it.  The president’s address marked the first day of parliament’s budget session. In this session Railway Budget the Economic Survey and the General Budget will be presented on 24th, 25th, and 26 February respectively. The session will conclude on May 7th.
