Ramesh Chaudhary, a former Congress MLA in Maharashtra, has been booked for allegedly reimbursing the medical expenses by submitting fake medical bills worth Rs.20 lakhs during 2003-07.
Chaudhary had mentioned various ailments of his wife, mother and himself and had got passed fake bills through the Public Health Centre at Yawal, police said.
Concerned medical officers have already been dismissed from the service for allegedly supporting him in the act.
The high court on a petition had asked to set up a committee to probe into the case.
After asserting the facts in the bills the court recently ordered to charge the MLA and to that effect Dr .Firoz Tadvi on Friday lodged the complaint with Yawal police.
The former MLA has not been arrested yet, sources said.
