The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has already recorded the statement of Goa chief minister Digamber Kamat in connection with the International Film Festival of India (IFFI) infrastructure scam, an official said today.

"We have already recorded the statement of chief minister Digamber Kamat and speaker of Legislative Assembly Pratapsingh Rane, who were a part of the core committee of the then Goa government, which took decisions on IFFI infrastructure in 2004," CBI's superintendent of Police, S S Gavli told reporters here.

However, he refused to reveal when the statement was recorded.

Former BJP chief minister Manohar Parrikar has been investigated for his involvement in irregularities committed during creation of infrastructure for IFFI in 2004.

Kamat was a power minister in the then Parrikar Cabinet and was part of the core committee, which took all the crucial decisions on the infrastructure in 2004, when the festival was shifted to Goa from Delhi.

Other members in the core committee include current power minister Aleixo Sequira, water resources minister Philip Nery Rodrigues and education minister Atanasio Monserratte.

Meanwhile, Gavli refused to give the exact date of filing the chargesheet in this case.
