HP to use Lok Mitra Kendras as CSCs

Cabinet approves the creation of CSCs from the Kendras

With a view to giving impetus to e-governance, Himachal Pradesh cabinet on Wednesday decided to create Common Service Centres (CSC) through 3,366 Lok Mitra Kendras across the hill state.

The CSCs to be established by department of information technology would provide facility of registering complaints and grievances through Lok Mitra Kendras under e-Samadhan portal to common man on nominal payment of Rs 4.

The cabinet presided over by chief minister Prem Kumar Dhumal approved enhancement in the honorarium of Members of Himachal State Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission and District Redressal Forums from Rs 600 to Rs 1,000 and from Rs 500 to Rs 750 respectively from June 1, 2010, official sources said here.

The cabinet also mourned death of former Vice President Bhairon Singh Shekhawat.
