Haryana Health Minister Rao Narender Singh today paid a surprise visit to the Gurgaon General Hospital here and expressed dissatisfaction over unhygienic conditions in one of the wards.

Hospital authorities were taken by surprise as the minister came any prior intimation, officials said.

Singh, unhappy over unclean conditions in the emergency ward, directed civil surgeon Parveen Garg and Principal Medical Officer (PMO) Khazan Singh to ensure maintenance of proper hygiene in the hospital.

The minister interacted with the indoor patients about healthcare facilities in the hospital and asked the authorities to immediately carry out repair work on a broken pipeline, which had resulted in non-supply of water throughout the day, they said.

Singh also asked doctors and other paramedical staff to be cordial with patients while treating them.
