Reacting to the SIT's summons in connection with Ehsan Jaffery murder case in 2002 riots, Gujarat government issued a statement on Thursday night saying that the chief minister would cooperate with the process of law.

"The state government and the chief minister would cooperate with the process of law," Gujarat government spokesperson Jaynarayan Vyas told PTI.

He, however, refused to comment further saying whatever is required to follow the process of law will be done by the state government.

Acting on the complaint of Zakia Jaffery, widow of slain MP Ehsan Jaffery, the supreme court constituted Special Investigation Team has summoned Modi, directing him to appear before the authority on March 21.
