Congress created a ruckus after denial of permission to discuss the breach of privilege motion on the arrest of its MLA

The Madhya Pradesh Assembly was on Thursday adjourned for the day when Opposition Congress created a ruckus after denial of permission to discuss the breach of privilege motion on the issue of arrest of its MLA, Kalpana Parulekar.

Speaker Ishwardas Rohani had turned down the motion yesterday on the grounds that a sub-judice matter cannot be raised in the House and secondly, the MLA was arrested from her constituency, Mahidpur and not from the Assembly premises.

As the House assembled for the Question Hour today, Deputy Leader of Congress Legislature Party, Choudhary Rakesh Singh Chaturvedi and Arif Aqeel (Congress) raised the issue again demanding discussion of the breach of privilege motion.

However, the Speaker said he had already given his ruling on the matter and therefore, it stands closed and cannot be raised again.

But the Congress members kept on insisting on raising the issue and did not allow the House to take up Questions following which the Speaker adjourned the House for one hour.

At 11.30 AM, when the House again assembled, Congress members again raised the demand vociferously and did not heed to the Chair's repeated request to take up issues of public importance. .
