Sarita Vihar-Badarpur stretch likely next month

DMRC has begun trial runs on the 5-km section

Residents of Badarpur may have to wait some more time to enjoy the Metro train comfort as the small stretch between Sarita Vihar and Badarpur is likely to be opened only next month.

DMRC has begun trial runs on the 5-km section and it had rescheduled the opening of the 5-km stretch, part of the Central Secretariat-Badarpur Standard Gauge line, to the end of this month after it missed the Commonwealth Games deadline.

DMRC chief E Sreedharan had earlier said the line will be operational before this month end.

But now the line is likely to be opened only next month as the trial runs were started only yesterday. Delhi Metro is likely to continue with the trial runs for the next 10 days.

Trial runs began after Over-Head Electrification (OHE) system was energised.

The trials will go on for sometime.
